Overview

Ill news from north, travelling to Thornwaste.

Leaving Drellin's Ferry

A Lion of Brindol appeared on the Old Bridge Inn and brought ill news from North. The road towards Talenta Plains has been blocked by a fortified checkpoint, manned by orges and hobgoblins.

The following discussion in the presence of Soranna, Wiston, Delani and Kellin put the evacuation question in the bigger scope, as Teyani reminded that the army of Elsir Vale is located in the sole fortified city, Brindol. If a war is breaking out, that is where Lord Jarmaath is going to focus his forces.

The heroes decided to leave the town in favour to find new allies against the Red Hand. The afternoon was used to gather lore about surroundings and prepare oneself for the journey.

Finally on horseback, kind of

Delani decided to lend four horses. First night was spent one the far end of the southern farmlands, close to the Thornwastes. After the rain, on the second travelling day, the biome changed to thorns and dead vegetation. Even the horses (non-magical ones) were unable to get forward with the thorns growing bigger and bigger. You were facing the Thornwastes, a dead land of hills, boulderse and spikes.

Lore of powerful entities in Elsir Vale

Lord Jarmaath

The lord of Brindol is the head of the human population in Qa'Barra. When Galifar fell, he was one of the could-be descendants of the heir, moving to Elsir Vale and founding "New Galifar" around the small human community living in the area.

Reign of Lord Jarmaath is the closest there is in Qa'Barra reflecting the style of living similar to The Five Nations, although compared to the old times, Elsir Vale is very very small community in terms of power or especially political influence on Khorvaire. With close connections to House Tharash, the riches of Qa'Barra are an economical asset that is something to be aware of, so in future there is a chance that Lord Jarmaath makes it back to the continental elite.

The Lizardfolk

The indigenous people of Qa'Barra, lizardfolk, are considered totally alien to all other factions. No trade, no war, no political or cultural interchange. Sometimes they are attacking humans, but are never really driving a campaign against the settlers. They say the lizardfolk is the only people in Qa'Barra that can't or won't communicate in Galifar. If you manage to get in discussion with them, they are making weird questions and pointing out unusual things.

The Forest elves

Living on the bog of what used to be Rhest. That's across the road to North Teyani was talking about, with the roadblock and bandits.

The Hammerfist Holds

Dwarven community on the mountains in the South. Regular trade partner, but other than that not really a visible power in Elsir Vale.

The Ghostlord

The last captive in Drellin's Ferry, Dulzun, was befriended magically and persuated in discussing this matter. He said The Ghostlord is an ally to the Red Hand and will bring ghost forces. Dulzun, as a magic-user himself, was unsure why The Ghostlord, as a suspected timeless entity, would agree with this mundane arrangement. Perhaps the wyrmlords have just made a good deal.

From previous discussions with prisoners and from Wyrmlord Koth's memos you know that an another wyrmlord called Ulwai Stormcaller is supposed to be positioned in dwellings of The Ghostlord, to arrange the alliance matters there.
