Recovering from The Battle of the Skull Gorge Brigde.

Another Night in the Keep

Onni stroke the final blow with his mace against the ancient dwarven bridge. Wtih a moarning sound, the arch dropped down to the stream. As Onni was flying back to the south side of the canyon, the burial of the hobgoblins killed in the battle was done.

It was only noon, but given the long distances and possible hostile environment, the heroes decided to withdraw to Vraath Keep. The broken castle was in the state it was left at the morning. The main hall was chosen for the resting area, and Dulcimer was chosen to do all the guarding shifts.

When the sun was getting up, the warforged heard it. Silenty waking everyone, they watched as the manticore returned to it's nest. Apparently it was not going to stay, more like searching for something. Just about to leave, it managed to catch Dulcimer in sight and hear armour donning inside the hall.

The battle was fast over after Alistair's magic-aided charge against the monster on top of the roofs. In bitter defeat, the manticore was still trying to grap the glamerweave garment Alistair had taken from it's belongings.

Witchwood Encounters

After a lenghty discussion, the landmark and tracks hinting for a presence of a giant or giants was decided to be the goal of this day. On their way up north on The Dawn Way, a band of hobgoblin soldiers from the horde was encountered, in a heavy rain.

The bard miraculously managed to kill almost all of the rank-and-file soldiers on a single attack. The magic-user and two seasoned fighters withdrew into the forest, but couldn't escape. Helpless magic-user plead for mercy and was taken captive.

Developments

This is what the captive reveals to you with basic questioning:

• his name is Voknal and he belongs to the Red Hand
• this group of soldiers crossed the Skull Gorge Bridge a couple of hours ago with a help from 5 manticores
• manticores flew back to the base camp after helping with the crossing
• the Red Hand will be victorious. In a few days, the humans of Elsir Vale will face an enemy that they can't hold against.
• a few idealistic heroes like you will be eaten by the servants of the High Wyrmlord
