Overview

A rainy morning in lord Drevan ir'Rooles estate. After a good nights rest, you ask around for what has happened with the imposter scheme and about lady Nora ir'Roole in general. Servants are not telling much, but Lestra got a feeling that there are a lot of things unsaid here.

"You are to be teleported to Greenheart now", Drevan says. "Find the king of druids and ask them to come here to make a sunny day on Sun's Blessing." With that, you are given a bag of holding sealed with a magic word. "There's 9000 gp in there, that should be enough to pay for the magic. I trust on you. Five days!" With that, Drevan leaves and leaves you with Kemaal.

Kemaal promptly says the imposter turned out to be a regular thief, an actor, under a polymorph spell. She is not giving out anything else. "Those are matters that lord Drevan will decide to share or not to share", she says in her gloomy voice.

Capital Greenheart

House Orien teleportation studio takes heroes instantly in what is supposed to be the finest city of the Eldeen Reaches. It looks like it is just a forest. Everything is organic, even the platform the one-way teleportation spell put the travellers on.

After a while, it turns out to be a city, or town, or at least an area of some settlements. There are like naturally-grown huts and lean-to's here and there. On the forest floor you chat with a local druid. He tells you to go and see Oalian, and shows how the magical path to nee grove can be found.

The so-called King of Druids

Oalian will listen to anyone and is friendly towards most suggestions. Nee understands the question and will give help on the matter. However, nee accepts no gold in exchange. Out of good will, the heroes volunteer themselves on a mission. "There is a wound it the forest. We can not see what is in there, and we can't stop it from expanding. Follow Dyana", Oalian asks you.

A druid appeared, or maybe she was there all the time, and shows you the way. When she walks into a trunk of the tree, some eyebrows raise, but you follow her anyway. There is nothing special on the other side of the tree.

"This place is 5 days of hiking from Greenheart", Dyana explains. "The dark is growing there." Alistar can see the area through hawk's eyes. It is a big circle, black and white. It looks like the trees edging it are starting to wither and die.

Black zone

The heroes proceed to the dark area. Ahead there are two rabbits, black, fighting each other, in bloodlust. When one is killed, the victor will attack the heroes, with black fury and strange, rainbox-pattern eyes. There is no real challange to put this poor creature to its end. Going forward, a new kind of calamity is seen: a living tree, catching passbyers with it's moving branches and consuming them with an unnatural mouth.

Tree-monsters could be evaded by carefully keeping distance. After hiking deeper in the black zone, the terrain is getting more and more difficult, filled with falling, black trunks of trees in various states of decay. Trying to get pass for an another fallen giant tree, you see a dire wolf just in front of you.

With black fur and rainbow eyes, it is eating a small creature you have never seen before. Unlike other inhabitants of this dire place, this is not black: it is bright green with vicious red eyes, now lifeless.
